Edit Me and Photo A Day Challenge

Edit Me
I've missed a bunch of fabulous photos on Edit Me, but I thought I would jump back in and give this one a try.  It really caught my eye because I LOVE those trees and the reflection that they made in the water.
Here is the SOOC by Kaylene Maalaste from L'INSTANT. Go check out her blog and awesome edits!

I took this photo into Lightroom and increased blacks.  I also went to the hues and turned up the saturation on blue and turned the saturation down on reds and greens.  Then I ended up bringing it into PicMonkey to clone out a few branches and tried out the FILM STOCK effect (TriX option).  It kind of gave the photo a spooky feel which I liked.  Unfortunately it made my poor cloning stand out a little more.  Please don't look too hard. LOL

  3. Hi Sarah, nothing spooky here (try the Difference blending mode for spooky). I cannot see your problem with the cloning out the branch. Your edit draws the viewer to your image and the black and white effect is crisp and enhances the images giving it a WOW effect. Well done.

  6. B&W was a great choice for this photo. I agree, not sppoky at all...more dramatic and very effective. Great edit. Gives the photo a whole new look and feel.

  8. Finally I get to see a really cool b&w edit with this photo. I'm not so good at seeing things in b&w so I always admire those that can do such a great job with it. It's very dramatic and full of contrasts. You have created a really rich look! Also I absolutely adore that last photo! Very nice!
